Misa Frozen in Time (from Fall 2012 Wanderlust)

Just got my Transdesign haul in the mail today!

I wanted to show you a quick swatch, since I haven't seen swatches of the new Misas anywhere... although I only bought one:

Misa Frozen in Time - 2 coats

Formula is good; it looks sheer on the first coat, but when you put the second on, you're like "Wait, it's opaque? Huh?"

The colour reminds me of a softer Essie Smooth Sailing (uhhh sorry I can't compare it, I think I just sold mine in the last round of my blog sale -_- Eeek I know, I know, I'm super useless for comparisons these days!!) and the shimmer reminds me of Zoya Lotus.

From the bottle shots of this, I was hoping it would be a bit deeper, something like RBL Catherine H or BB Couture Impact Driver, but no dice. *sigh*

Did any of you make any blind purchases (i.e., didn't look at any swatches beforehand) lately? Hit or miss?

Misa Got it Made in the Shade and Catch a Flick

Here are a couple Misa polishes I got recently. I really like Misa in general, though I wish I could see them in person (my friend got these for me from Transdesign).

Misa Got it Made in the Shade - 2 coats. I bought this because I read somewhere it was a dupe for Essie Da Bush / OPI Stranger Tides but slightly more opaque. It still felt very thin and sheer going on, but not nearly as thin as the OPI.

Comparison: Misa Got it Made in the Shade and Essie Da Bush - 2 coats of each, I think the Misa is a tiny bit more opaque, but it doesn't really make a difference. Both names are kind of dinky, though. I purged OPI Stranger Tides a long time ago, but I think this Misa is closer to the OPI than the Essie (which is a little bluer, on me, although they look identical in this picture LOL). I think I will be purging the Essie :O!

Misa Catch a Flick - 2 coats. I got this one because I read it was a dupe for OPI Mermaid's Tears, which I loved, but I can rarely stand OPI bottles and prowide brushes these days. I'll only keep an OPI if it is "OMG UNBELIEVABLE UNIQUE AND AWESOME", so I'm trying to dupe all the cremes I like and stop buying their seasonal collections. The formula on this one is really nice, I think I will keep it!

Comparison: Misa Catch a Flick and Zoya Bevin - 2 coats each. Since my purging cycle is greatly accelerated these days, I already sold my bottle of OPI Mermaid's Tears on my blogsale earlier this month LOL. I had purchased Zoya Bevin hoping to get rid of the OPI, and just decided to purge the OPI and live with the difference from the Zoya. However, when I look at this comparison and the one I did for OPI vs Zoya, I think the Misa really is super close to the OPI. Anyways, now I need to decide if I want to keep or purge Bevin.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have not been buying much nail polish at all. I'm not finding many of the seasonal collections very interesting; is anyone else feeling the same way?

MAC Bad Fairy and Misa Under My Sunbrella

Hey guys! I am loving the weather right now in NJ! Beautiful sunshine and low 70s - PERFECT! I want to live somewhere where it's like this year round! I know NorCal has beautiful weather, but it's too rainy in the winter for me D:

One of my favourite bloggers, Lola over at Suburban Beauty, has been sporadically having little giveaways and I happened to win one! I love her pics so, so much, and her blog layout is too adorable! (I hope you guys don't mind the complete ABSENCE of design on my blog LOL, I'm just assuming everyone reads through Google Reader!!) If you aren't already an avid fan of hers, you definitely need to check her blog out!

So, what did I win? Well, if the subject line didn't give it away already, it was the highly coveted MAC Bad Fairy! I wanted this when it came out, but a few things held me back: MAC's annoying, yet brilliant, limited edition marketing strategy, the wonky brush on their lacquers, and the price per mL. I'm super happy to have won this polish!! Thanks so much, Lola!!!!

MAC Bad Fairy - This is three coats. I love how light-reflecting and eyecatching this shade is! From a normal viewing distance, this polish appear magenta on my skintone. Up close, the polish flashes orange and pink from different angles. So pretty!

I'm on my second day of wearing BF, with only a few chips on my ring and index finger of my right hand. To be fair, I've been having some peelies on those nails, so I don't think I can fault the formula there. I did get some shrinkage with SV, but I tend to expect that when it comes to polishes like this (same with the Orly FXs and many of Zoya's foiley-glass-flecked polishes).

Lola also (very generously) included a bonus polish from the most recent Misa collection! I wish Misa would promote their collections more by providing samples to bloggers, because they need more recognition!!

Misa Under my Sunbrella - The name of this yellow glass-flecked jelly is too cute! I don't think this is flattering on me (the pics make it look a bit darker than it does in real life), but it has a great, 2-coat formula. I'm currently trying to think of ways to layer this, since the glass-flecks in it polish are TDF!

I hope you guys are having a great hump day!

Misa DSM, Office Polish-tics, Toxic Seduction

My TD order came in this week and within it held my first Misas!

Misa Dirty Sexy Money - I had been lemming this polish for ages, bought the $OPI dupe (Ocean Love Potion) and promptly fell in love with it. I still ended up buying this Misa though and love it as well.

Comparison: Misa Dirty Sexy Money and $OPI Ocean Love Potion. I feel as though the Misa was a tiny bit greener than the $OPI, but they are pretty much dupes. Good thing I adore this shade! :D

Misa Office Polish-tics - Originally, I was going to buy the whole 9-5 collection, but then I had a brief moment of sanity and managed to keep the rest out of my TD cart. I really like this shade!

Comparison: Misa Office Polish-tics and Zoya Kelly. The closest thing I have is Zoya Kelly, but they are slightly different, though about the same darkness. I prefer the Misa, I think, since it leans a bit more blue.

Misa Toxic Seduction - This is pretty hot. Sorry for the out of focus macro shot; my flash batteries started dying!

Comparison: Misa Toxic Seduction and ChG Emerald Fitzgerald. The ChG looks awful brush-strokey next to the Misa, doesn't it O_o?

I bought a Kindle last week and have been lost in the Hunger Games (by Suzanne Collins) trilogy. Just finished it yesterday afternoon. I loved the first book, really liked the second book, and the third book was kind of a let down, to be honest. I just started reading Room (by Emma Donoghue), and so far it's really chilling. I'm almost a little scared to keep reading it! Amazon has a great business strategy with the Kindle, imo. I've already spent $50 in my first week when I haven't spend money on books in a long time!

Um my point being, I have been so consumed by my reading, that I am super behind catching up on nail blogs and leaving comments! I'm sure I'll have plenty of time at work though LOL. :D

Hope you all had a great weekend!
