Reswatch: CND Jade Sparkle and Sapphire Sparkle

Two of my first CND effect polishes! They had terrible swatches, so I decided to update them!

CND Jade Sparkle layered over Illamasqua Milf - I kept this over ChG White Cap, which has a very similar look, but the CND has a clearer base which is better for layering, imo! I have a comparison of the two in this post.




CND Sapphire Sparkle over NARS Midnight Express
- This one is just beautiful. It's dupey to OPI I Juggle Men, but I heard that one seemed to react badly with quick dry top coats.




It's almost the weekend, right? RIGHT?! I have to go to the DMV this weekend to renew my driver's license (*shakes fist at being Canadian in America*) so that will be super depressing and boring. I have lots and lots of indie swatches coming up, so keep an eye out for that :D

CND Sweet and Sugar Sparkle

Game 7 last night was not good for the Canucks. I am happy for the Boston Bruins, though. I'm disappointed that some "fans" decided to riot in Vancouver... overreact, much?

Anyway, I realized I forgot to show you this CND set! I was lemming it pretty hard and fairly convinced I would never get it, since it is from Spring 2010, but a kind MUAer offered to swap for it!

CND Sweet - Pretty pink, but not as flattering as the other pinks in my stash. I actually sold this in my blog sale last week!


CND Sugar Sparkle over CND Sweet - Sooo gorgeous. I love this effect.



Ahh, now that the Stanley Cup playoffs are over, what am I going to watch on tv at nights?!

CND Effects: Raspberry Sparkle, Amethyst Sparkle, and Crimson Sparkle

I spent the majority of my weekend re-swatching some nail polishes (instead of studying *guilty face*), so I will be posting some new-old spam over the next few days :)

But first, here are some layering combos using the CND sparkle Effects I recently hauled! I adore them!

CND Night Factory duo: Urban Oasis and Teal Sparkle

I know this is pretty old now, but I just managed to snatch this duo before it went out of stock everywhere. I am feeling pangs that I never managed to get the Sugar sparkle duo!

CND Urban Oasis - This polish is amazing, 1 coat. Seriously, 1 coat! Not "if you're careful, you'll only need 1 coat", but "just slap on a coat"!! The brush is terrific (wide, but not as wide as OPI) and easy to control. I think I need more CND colours!!


CND Teal Sparkle over CND Urban Oasis - *mesmerized* I love it, guys, I love it. I really hope CND adds Teal Sparkle to its regular/core line-up, because everyone should be able to own this!



Comparison: CND Urban Oasis and OPI Ski Teal We Drop - I thought these would be closer, but side by side, you can see a real difference. OPI STWD needs 2 coats too!

NOTD: Misa Office Polish-tics and CND Gold Sparkle

Oops, I think MUA is now no longer accessible from work! I know I shouldn't be on there at all during work hours, but it's hard to resist when work is slow! :'( Oh well, here's to increased productivity (and/or increased blog posts through the workday! LOL) False alarm! MUA was just down. *rejoice*!

Today's NOTD is Misa Office Polish-tics (which, is gorg on its own!) topped with CND Gold Sparkle. I experienced a bit of shrinkage from using SV on the Misa. I'll probably thin the SV soon, it's starting to get gloopy again!

I made my last TD haul mostly to grab the rest of the CND sparkle effects, and I am glad I did! I spent a few minutes deciding what to top the Misa with and I'm happy I chose Gold Sparkle. It's a bit more subtle than some of the other sparkle effects, but I think it's a great way to add a little bit of interest without overwhelming you with glittah and glass flecks pew pew.




It reminds me a little of BB Couture Impact Driver, but deeper and with more gold toned sparkles. I can't put my finger on it, but it also reminds me of a stone.

Here's the macro shot, but my flash killed the sparkle somewhat. I hope you can tell that the finish of this sparkle effect is not uniformly sized.


I need to pick up another bottle of WnW Black Creme next time I'm at the drugstore so I can swatch my CND effects properly! For now, this will count as my CND Gold Sparkle swatch :)

CND Sapphire Sparkle over NARS Midnight Express

Here's CND Sapphire Sparkle layered over NARS Midnight Express. It has prompted me to start a Transdesign cart with many of the other CND Effects! Yum...







The flecks remind me of Orly Galaxy Girl:


but of course, CND comes in a clear base whereas the Orly has a purplish jelly-base. Here's the Orly:

NOTD: Prorance S21 and CND Effects (Sapphire Sparkle, Jade Sparkle)

My left eye hurts today for some reason. I think DBF must have hit me in his sleep... but he denies everything. LOL. Hopefully my right eye won't be injured tomorrow haha!

Anyway, NOTD is this awesome polish I received from my friend back home in Canada, though I believe it is a Korean brand.

Prorance S21 - Awesome one coater; black with metallic shimmer. Really nice...





Since I'm about to take it off, I layered my new CNDs overtop just to see how it looks:
