Nfu Oh 63

Hi guys! Sorry I am a bit MIA, we are busy planning our vacation next month! DBF and I are going on a 2 week trip to Japan and South Korea. Lots to do! Any recommendations for places to see, places to eat, and places to shop? :)

I wore Nfu Oh 63 this weekend, an untried. Here it is 2 coats over 1 coat of Barielle Manicure extender as my base (I was too cheap to buy the Aqua base, but I have yet to have a problem using a qdtc as my base so far!).

With diffused flash

No flash, just standing under my room lights (yellow bulbs, obviously!)

No flash, but in the corner of my room, not right under the room lights

No sun pics, since it's cloudy out!

I already know about the Nfu Oh store in Seoul... I am definitely planning an excursion there :D Though, I haven't decided how many bottles of polish to buy on my trip or how much to spend. What do you think is reasonable for a 2 week trip...?

  1. This is gorgeous! Quick question, how do you get a diffused flash?

  2. I would say 2 bottles a day is reasonable!! Hahaha! I guess it would depend on the cost. If it is cheaper there than online its worth stocking up on! How can you resist that holo beauty?!?

  3. Hey Missblue! I diffuse my flash with a white plastic bag. If you're using a point and shoot camera, you can tape a little bit of white tissue paper over the flash and see if that helps diffuse the flash! :)

  4. I guess 30 polishes is a good gauge then! :)

  5. This is gorgeous!
And I have no idea what is reasonable to spend on polish when you're on vacation...rationality in the face of bottles of colored crack has never been my strong suit ahahaha.

  6. I think Nfu Oh is about the same or even a tad bit more expensive in Korea.  Last time my friend got me one for 14,000won which is like $13 US.  Weird!  Since it's $12.50 with shipping on FabulousStreet.  I still say the store is worth a visit just to see all those bottles lined up. x)

  7. Oo that's odd! Minnnnie on NB said she hauled at the Nfu Oh store and everything was around ~$4-8 USD. I guess I'll find out! But if they are 14000 won, I won't be hauling that much! Thanks!

  10. Could you please kindly share with me the address of the Nfu Oh store in Seoul please? Funny enough, my friend just went to Seoul and she says Nfu Oh is sold for ~$30 USD there! I couldn't believe it! Do let us know how much they are in Seoul when you get back! :)

  11. What a gorgeous holo polish!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! <3 <3 <3
About your trip to Seoul and buying polishes... oh well, I thing you should get as little clothes as possible so you can leave room for polishes and other stuff you want to buy :D
That's what I'd do for example if I came the United States for a vacation: empty suitcases!!! :D

  12. :D Yes, we are going to bring an empty duffle bag that folds up small, so on the way back, we can put our more fragile purchases (*wink*) in the hard cover rolley bag! :D

  14. You have the best close up shots!  I really need to break down and make an order of Nfu Oh's, cause they are all so pretty!  I find shopping online for polish hard since I like to actually look at them.

I hope you have a great trip!  Sounds awesome!

  15. I made the pilgrammage to the NFUOh Seoul store in May myself, and my advice is - buy as many bottles as you think you can get through customs! The prices are UNBELIEVABLY cheap compared to, well, Singapore (~US$34/bottle), but to give you an idea, the flakies at the Seoul HQ were US$5.95 and the holos were US$7.15, and the Aqua base was US$4.1. That's practically free in my mind.

However, they do only take cash, and when I first arrived, I went to their address on the website which is actually their warehouse, the salon where you buy polish is actually on the top floor (ninth IIRC). I bought 12 bottles and got them to use a spare cardboard box with separators to pack them for me and they survived just fine in my luggage.

  17. Of course if you go to Japan, you must hit up a Daiso for cheap polish, including cheap holos. I also found nice polishes at drug stores, like Tsuruha (which is in Northern Japan where I spend most of my time there, and if you get a chance to go to Sapporo, go. Its awesome), or someplace like Don Quijote. DQ had a good selection of nail polish and stickers. Only thing bad about Japanese polish is its expensive for how much you get. But I scored some great glitters and some amazing nail stickers when I was there for study abroad.

  19. LOL, I like the way you think, Melissa. I might have to follow your advice. Thanks for the pointer about the store location! :D

  20. haha! I'm in Seoul now and went to Nfu Oh's on Wednesday (bought 11 polishes!). The shop is awesome. I felt like in heaven!! I took photos. I'll post a map to locate the shop with a picutre of the building and the inside soon on my blog (when I'm back, which is next Friday). You can also find Nfu Oh polishes in other places around the city but they are much more expensive. So you should really buy them in the official store!
I found some other awesome polishes at different stores like Missha, Etude House and in the 100 cosmetics shops you can super easily find in Seoul. There are a huuuuuge amount of cosmetics shops! I found this afternoon 2 great holo at Aritaum! South Korea is a great land for polish lovers, belive me! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

  21. As I told you in my previsou comment I went to the shop this week. Regular polishes are either 7500 or 8400 won according to the collection and holos are 10500 won but this is a discount I got. My bf is Korean and he talks a lot with the girl of the shop (friendly girl btw) and she said they do discount for foreigners (I'm not Korean). So maybe Liz's friend is Korean and bought them for 14000 won which is the price on the bottle for holo.

  22. Yay!! I'll keep an eye on your blog for that post! thanks for letting me know the prices are different elsewhere around the city. I am sooo excited to go!!! Hope you're enjoying your time in Seoul!! :D
