OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston

I originally wasn't going to get any polishes from the Texas collection... but I still picked up one :p

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston: Three coats, still a bit sheer. Nice and bright, not streaky at all. I was on the fence about the colour.




Before I took it off, I slapped on Black Shatter. Eh. I think my fascination with crackle polishes is starting to wane, LOL.


Is it just me, or is OPI overusing dashes in their names to be punny? lol.

Boo, there is a dog tied up on the sidewalk just under my apartment, and he is crying and whining :( It makes me sad...

OPI Black Shatter Spam!

Having just received OPI Black Shatter on Saturday, I basically applied it on top of EVERYTHING all weekend.

Zoya Charla, OPI BS, Essie MAY: I showed you this mani without matte topcoat a couple days ago. At the end of the day, I slapped on a coat of MAY to see how it would look.


Zoya Jo, OPI BS: I just showed you Jo by itself, and here it is with OPI BS.


Zoya Jo, OPI BS, Revlon Galaxy: I got pretty antsy this weekend, so I put Revlon Galaxy on top of that previous mani and ended up with this monstrosity. It looks better in pictures than in real life, I think. Then again, I am not actually a big fan of these Revlon glitter topcoats.





Orly Enchanted Forest, SH Hidden Treasure, OPI BS: I woke up Monday morning having dreamt of this combo. It didn't really deliver, though! Oh well, worth a shot!



Zoya Valerie, CND Jade Sparkle, OPI BS: I really like this effect, up close. I bet ChG White Cap would work in the same way as CND Jade Sparkle, here.



DC Concrete Jungle, CND Sapphire Sparkle, OPI BS: Finally, I tried to use Concrete Jungle as my work-appropriate mani for the rest of the week, but I could not sit still. It pulls too blue on me, so I decided it should go in the swap pile. Not before layering on a CND effect and OPI BS, though!



Ok, hopefully I got all my BS out of my system (ehehe). For work, I'm wearing Essie Limited Addiction. I'm not going to put BS on it... yet. I just applied a refresher topcoat so I won't play with it anymore today!

Zoya Jo

Zoya Jo - It's definitely in the same colour family as Essie Lapis of Luxury, but a shade darker and shimmery. Opaque in two coats! :D




Of course, I couldn't leave it alone. I'll post that in a second so my Zoya and swatch tags don't get polluted :)

Revlon Sublime Strawberry and Slipper

Work is a rollercoaster. For two months I had to busy myself because there was no billable work to be found; two weeks ago, we got a rush project requiring lots of OT! Ahhh... work -.-

Couple weekends ago, DBF obliged me a trip to the Sallys-BigLots-DollarTree strip mall on the weekend. I didn't find anything at Sallys or DT, but Big Lots had 2-packs of Revlons for $2.00. I actually went to see if I could pick up some Revlon Perplex for swaps, but they didn't have any.

I picked up a duo containing Sublime Strawberry (one of the scented polishes) and Slipper (one of the glitter topcoats from the summer).

Revlon Sublime Strawberry - I'm actually surprised how much I like this! The scent doesn't really bother me, but I know others are sensitive to these scented Revlons.




Revlon Slipper (Layered over Essie Ballet Slippers) - not the most ideal polish to layer over, but it just happened to be what I was wearing when I bought it :) I picked up Galaxy when these first came out, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I like these :S

NOTD: ChG Sea Spray with Colorama Rock Me

Colorama layered on the ring finger.





Close up of the accent finger. I actually like this more than White Cap on Sea Spray because it's still cool-toned. I wonder if there's a CND Effect like this...

In a fit of temporary insanity, I whipped out my trusty WnW Black Creme this weekend and molested my Essie Watermelon manicure...

CND Sapphire Sparkle over NARS Midnight Express

Here's CND Sapphire Sparkle layered over NARS Midnight Express. It has prompted me to start a Transdesign cart with many of the other CND Effects! Yum...







The flecks remind me of Orly Galaxy Girl:


but of course, CND comes in a clear base whereas the Orly has a purplish jelly-base. Here's the Orly:

China Glaze White Cap

Been a couple busy days at work and also some crazy winter weather! I finally got around to taking proper swatches of ChG White Cap, so here they are:

China Glaze White Cap: This is three coats on its own, and I really don't like it like this because you can see my stained nails!




Here is 1 coat of White Cap layered over Essie Marshmallow; I vastly prefer it like this!
