Nfu Oh 50 and 54

Yayyy, I'm finally done a big project at work! Of course, I thought I was done two nights ago, but it turns out I made a tiny mistake, that had a big impact (oops!), so I had to re-do everything last night and this morning. But now... now it's done (I hope.)

So here's another Nfu Oh post. I bought 50 and 54 on my trip, and had bought 40 from Fabuloustreet.com last year (when I was obsessed with SH Hidden Treasure).

Nfu Oh 54 layered over black - the flakies in this are actually a bit sparse in this one

Nfu Oh 50 over Zoya Pinta - flakies are wayyy more dense in this one. Almost SH HT dense.

Comparison: Nfu Oh 40, 50, 54 - that's kinda annoying, right? Anyway, I'm just going to keep 40, since I've already put a dent in it and it's in the most clear base.

I hope this was helpful, guys! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Nfu Oh 56

Here's another amazing Nfu Oh flakie that I loved more than expected:

Nfu Oh 56 over Illamasqua Rampage - I think this is fantastic! Like 51 and 52, this polish has small shimmer in addition to the flakies. I think it really adds a lot of depth.

I have a bunch of other Nfu Oh flakies to show you, but they all ended up looking really similar on the nail. I need to work up a few comparisons to make that post more helpful, so I may post something else before that goes up... maybe a haul post ;)

Hope you guys are doing well! This week is really dragging for me. I can't wait for the weekend!!! Even though I have nothing planned, I need to time to rest >

Nfu Oh 52

Last time I mentioned Nfu Oh 51 didn't excite me much... Nfu oh 52 on the otherhand totally blew my mind.

I wore it 1 coat over Illamasqua Phallic for these pics. It also looked great (and a bit different) over CND Urban Oasis.

Nfu Oh 52 over Illamasqua Phallic - OM NOM NOM NOM.

As a side note, this polish reminds me of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe... Obviously they are totally different polishes. Maybe it was just the blue-green colour scheme.

Really amazing polish. You can get Nfu Ohs from fabuloustreet.com :)

Nfu Oh 51

I've always seen photos of this polish (often compared to Clarins 230 with flakies) but never thought I would have it. I picked it up in Seoul last month and here are the swatches. I tried it out on its own, but didn't like how it looked, so I layered it 1 coat over Zoya Pinta. You can get Nfu Ohs from fabuloustreet.com for $12.50 each (free US shipping over $25).

Nfu Oh 51 (over Zoya Pinta) - Actually, this didn't wow me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I just need to find a better layering combination.

Comparison: Orly Fowl Play and Nfu Oh 51 over Zoya Pinta - I think I prefer the Orly!

A while back, I tried to franken my own Nfu Oh 51, and this is what I had come up with:

Next to my franken: the recipe for the franken is about half and half Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Purple Pizzazz and Colorama Flakies plus a little red.

Comparison: Franken and Nfu Oh 51 over Zoya Pinta - As similar as they look in the bottle, they're much different on the nail. The Nfu Oh is way more packed with flakie-goodness.

Sorry I was MIA all week! I was away for a work conference just outside of LA. This is the view from my hotel room... such a gorgeous view!! The weather was amazing. Flying back into EWR was a real downer... lol.

Nfu Oh 63

Hi guys! Sorry I am a bit MIA, we are busy planning our vacation next month! DBF and I are going on a 2 week trip to Japan and South Korea. Lots to do! Any recommendations for places to see, places to eat, and places to shop? :)

I wore Nfu Oh 63 this weekend, an untried. Here it is 2 coats over 1 coat of Barielle Manicure extender as my base (I was too cheap to buy the Aqua base, but I have yet to have a problem using a qdtc as my base so far!).

With diffused flash

No flash, just standing under my room lights (yellow bulbs, obviously!)

No flash, but in the corner of my room, not right under the room lights

No sun pics, since it's cloudy out!

I already know about the Nfu Oh store in Seoul... I am definitely planning an excursion there :D Though, I haven't decided how many bottles of polish to buy on my trip or how much to spend. What do you think is reasonable for a 2 week trip...?

Flakies: Nfu Oh 40 and SH Hidden Treasure

I hope you guys had a great long weekend... I'm sad it's over! I think my posts here are going to have to slow down, mostly because I haven't bought anything new in a while XD (that's a good thing, right?)

I've been reswatching some of my older polishes lately to update my spreadsheet, so I thought I would share those updated pics.

Today imma show you my two lone flakies:

SH Hidden Treasure (over black): This was the first polish I hunted around for like mad (I'm sure many of you did the same!) and never found it at the drugstore (CVS, Walgreens, Rite-aid). A couple months after it came and went, I found a single bottle by itself in a random plastic bin in K-mart! I actually went in looking for glycerin (for my acetone remover; Kmart didn't have any btw) and was thrilled to find this instead! :) Ahhh good memories :)

Nfu Oh 40 (over black): During that time I was freaking out about not being able to find HT, I ended up ordering this from Fabuloustreet.com to ease my pain. I decided against the HT-dupe (which is #38, I believe?) which is a good thing since I finally did get my hands on HT! The flakies in this one are a lot larger and a bit more sparse, but they reflect blue-green instead of red-orange-green.

Ironically enough, I hardly ever wear these. The removal of flakies is a huge deterrent for me, even with foil method removal! haha. Oh well, I'm still glad to have them.

Nfu Oh 61

I'm going to interrupt my Zoya Exchange polish swatches to bring you this very special holo-post! :D

Last week, Nfu Oh 61 came back in stock at Fabuloustreet and NB jumped on it and they sold out in something like 10 hours. I ordered one too, despite being on a no-buy for all of April (failed miserably! Oh well!) and it arrived yesterday!

I ran up to my apartment after work and basically slapped on three coats overtop my existing mani, chips and all. It was Zoya Lael, but Nfu Oh 61 completely covered it… It was a rainy day yesterday, but a few sunshine rays peeked out for me to grab a couple shots of my janked up swatch.

Full Sun (you can see I have chips in my nails underneath, sorry!)

Then I decided this gorgeous polish needed a proper swatch to put in my spreadsheet. So, I took off my nail polish, and put on my Barielle HRF. Then I tried to apply 61. OMG, terrible application. It was streaky and the pigment would clump up if I went over my nail again… ahh I was freaking out that I should have bought the Aqua Base!

But I was confused, because it applied much better over top my old mani. So here's what I did for the swatches below:

1 coat clear basecoat (SH Hard as Nails) topped with Seche Vite. Let dry. Then 3 coats of Nfu Oh 61, while waiting a couple mins between coats. This was a million times easier to apply! I'm glad I found a way to avoid spending another $12!

Of course, by the time I got all this figured out, it was almost 7pm and the sun totally gone, so here are swatches using my flash unit.

Diffused Flash (aka, my usual swatch setup using a white plastic bag over my external flash unit)

Direct Flash (my least favourite method, but works well for holos)

And I also took some indoors shots so you see what it looks like without awesome sun or light. I had to increase my aperture so there would be enough light coming into my lens, so these pics are not as uniformly in focus as the previous pics. Hopefully, you get the idea, though!

In twilight coming from my window

Normal indoors light (just the room light; it looks more holo directly under the light)

Anyways, love this! I want to buy all the others now, but of course they are sold out. I shall wait!

My GitA and Lady Muck are on their way to my house today. I've already prepped my nails with my Glitterless GitA-franken (just a baby blue jelly, haha) so I can slap on two coats of GitA! So excited!
