Reswatch: Brucci Black Emerald

My neighbourhood grocery stocks a few OPI (I picked up my bottle of OPI Smitten with Mittens here ages ago) and a LOT of Brucci nail polish. The first Christmas I lived here, they sent out $10 off $20 coupons, so I there to check out their polishes.

Overall, I was pretty impressed with the Bruccis I tried. The only thing that bugged me, was that the caps seemed to make this screeching sound whenever I opened or closed the bottles! I'm not sure if I was imagining it, but I decided to get rid of them and keep only 1 that I loved (I decanted it to a quieter bottle, lol):

Brucci Black Emerald - This is one of the few duochromes I love. These pictures don't do the polish justice. I really need to try to take these pics again!

Happy Friday, everyone! :D

  3. I grew up in NY and when I was in high school 90% of my stash was Brucci. I was a broke teenager and it was a $1.50 at Genovese (a drug store that CVS bought out ages ago). The formula was consistently awesome, and the range of colors was huge, even back in the 90's. The only places I know that carries them anymore are the Rite Aids in NYC and Duane Reade, which is a terrible shame, because they are still awesome and only $2.99. They might not be "3 Free", though (which might explain the awesome formula... mmmmm, chemicals).

  6. This is one of my favourite polishes. Definately top 3, might even be my favourite of all... okay, second favourite of all time. Or maybe first. Damn! Oh well... Either way, I love it like crazy.

  7. Mine was a local non-chain pharmacy, but Brucci is available in the NY-tristate area, and I see them at Rite-Aid and Harmons (/Bed Bath and Beyond). I think they are a bit harder to come by in the rest of the States.

  8. I've also seen buckets of them at Harmons/Bed Bath and Beyond :D I think I read somewhere that they actually *are* Big 3 Free, but I do think they smell quite bad... I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't. Agreed about the nommy chemicals, lol.
