Orly Pure Porcelain and Orly Nite Owl

Hey guys, here are a couple Orlys I tried recently.

Orly Pure Porcelain - I had heard about how awesome this polish was and needed to try it for myself. The formula is quite good for a colour like this; 2 coats, not streaky, but not self leveling either. Unforunately, I think it's a little bit too stark for my skintone.

Comparison: Orly Pure Porcelain and OPI Let Them Eat Rice Cake - I think LTERC is a bit better on me, no?

Comparison: Orly Pure Porcelain and OPI Steady as She Rose - Here it is compared to SaSR... I'm not really digging that one anymore either, since it seems to dry darker than bottle shade.

Orly Nite Owl - I wanted to try this because it looked like it might be a dupe for SH Fedora, one of my favourite nudes ever. Turns out this is actually closer to Essie Mochachino, though (I don't have it yet!). Two coats.

Comparison: Orly Nite Owl and Sally Hansen Fedora - Not a dupe. I'm stuck with that SH-paddle brush, dang it!

  1. I'm really liking Nite Owl .  I don't usually go for neutral colors, but I like the shimmer in this one.

  2. How was the formula on LTERC?

  3. I believe that Nite Owl is a dupe for Butter London's All Hail the Queen (one of my favorites!) By the way, love your blog! It's nice to see someone swatch with a similar skin tone. :D

  5. :) I guess Orly Nite Owl is just missing the tiny bits of holo glitter that BL AHtQ has, right? Thanks!

  6. It's pretty bad. I switched in a pro-wide brush, though, and it applies so-so in 3 coats. I still like it though ><

  7. The finish/shimmer kind of reminds me of BL Victoriana...

  8. I think Pure Porcelain looks really nice on you, but I agree LTERC is better.  I didn't pick up anything from Orly's recent set except Fowl Play because I was still sore about missing out on Merry Midnight, but Night Owl is really nice.

  9. These are just too light and happy for me-I think the OPI does look better with your skin tone-but they just aren't for me!

  10. I love Pure Porcelaine, best pale, clean, opaque colour for me. Orly killed it this year, all of their polishes were stunning. That said, I used it in spring, maybe it's not working all that well right now?
