Essie Chinchilly

I purchased this polish a while ago, but realized I never posted the swatches! Oops! Actually, this may be the "theme" of my posts over the next couple of months... haha. Hope you guys don't mind!

I had picked up and put down this polish countless times at the store, and finally decided to just buy it. I'm so glad I did, because I flipping love this neutral polish!! If you have a similar skin tone to me, you definitely owe it to yourself to try this polish out. Mmmmk?

Essie Chinchilly - It's somewhere between a 2 and 3 coater.

Here are a couple comparisons to help you get an idea of the colour:

Comparison: Essie Chinchilly and Milani Bare to Wear

Comparison: Essie Chinchilly and Revlon Stormy

I played with my stash this weekend. Since I love seeing "nail polish collection on the carpet"-pictures, I thought I'd show you mine:

And sorted by brand...

Actually, after sorting by brand I realized I was missing two bottles of Zoya (found 'em under my coffee table) and that I had some polishes for swapping in my main drawer by accident. DBF also asked me, "What is the purpose of this activity?" to which I promptly ignored. :)

Hope you guys are doing well!

  6. This polish has been on my list too for a long time but then it always gets pushed over by brighter colors. Thanks for reminding me :)

Talking about bright: you need a bottle of yellow in there? :D

  8. Haha, you got me! The ones I have I *love*; the ones that didn't really wow me I ended up getting rid of. I need to do this with OPI next!

  9. Haha! You know, I had 3 yellows at one point (Zoya Pippa, AA Butter, and OPI Fiercely Fiona) but I just never reached for them or even wanted to reach for them, so I just decided they should go to new homes! I haven't regret the decision yet, so I think I made the right choice :)

  10. :D A lot of people (well, online) do say they expected me to have a larger collection. I think I have owned about 400 polishes since I have been into it, but I am just really proactive about purging my stash!

  11. ^_^ I'm glad the picture didn't pick up hairs on the carpet - I shed like a cat and was too lazy to vacuum, LOL

  17. " DBF also asked me, "What is the purpose of this activity?" to which I promptly ignored. :)"... Boy, don't I know this feeling.. lol....
I love your collection! SO many Essies... Ohh wee! Most Nail Blogger live by China Glaze, and I'm glad to see you are not from that school of thought. (I have nothing against CG), but it's good to see someone else who has more of another brand than CG.

    New follower here... :-)

  18. Chinchilly is the polish that started my affair with Essie. I LOVE it, it's gorgeous and sophisticated, looks awesome on you. I've bought tons of Essie since, love them all :)

  19. Hi Lizzy :) Yeah, I used to have a lot more China Glaze, but I realized I didn't *love* them. Same with my OPIs (there are still a few I could live without). ^^

  22. I found your beautiful nail photos on Pinterest and became an instant fan! I thought wow she must have a huge collection of nail polishes (I myself have somehow become a bit of a nail polish hoarder! Lol!)! Then I saw your nail polish stash photo and am stupefied and a bit freaked out- at how small it is- especially in comparison with how many I have!! It I suddenly feel like I need therapy for it and should be shipping you half of my collection, especially since I don't get to use 75% of it!! : (

Love your nails- and can't wait to see your collection grow! Lol haha...
