Heart Strings over Illamasqua Collide (the name is sooo cute!)
Liquid Valentine (or ♥) over Zoya Alegra
Since it's a new year, I am trying to curb my spending on cosmetics and nail polish. January didn't start out so good, because I bought 4 blushes (and swapped for 2 more). I seem to have a growing blush obsession (do you?!).
Here is my modest (modest to some, already crazy to others) blush collection:
And some subpar swatches, because I needed to make sure I didn't have dupes (you guys know me!)
So for the month of February, I'm going to make a shopping list for cosmetics/np and STICK TO IT (at least try).
Here is what I'm allowing myself to purchase for this month:
- A-Englands: I know I am totally late on the bandwagon here, but I recently decided to take the plunge and try this brand at the insistence of my NB friends. I plan on ordering the following through llarowe's shop (once they come back in stock): St George, Dragon, Order of the Garter, Tristam, Lady of the Lake, Galahad, Elaine, Perceval, and Guinevere. Do you have any of these? What do you think of my picks?
- Layla Holographics: These are not yet available in the US, but should be ~sometime~ at aveyou.com and zappos.com. You can get them from Layla's italian site, but I lost patience trying to navigate their site in Italian (lol). I'm going to allow myself to purchase 5: Mercury Twilight (silver holo), Jade Groove, Mermaid Spell, Ocean Rush, and Flash Black (black holo). I'm skipping the nude/pink/purple ones, because let's be honest, if I'm going to wear a holo, it's gotta be blue or green :D
- Zoya True collection: I only want three: Bevin, Skylar, and Lotus. The rest seem nice, but "nice" doesn't cut it anymore in my stash!! hehe.
- Jessica Cosmetics: Disco Diva duo and Smoky Feather (the Chanel Graphite dupe)
It's going to be a pricey month (well, contingent on when the Laylas will become available), but I am so excited! It's been a while since I have been excited about polish, and I think my year-end purging and Lynns really sparked my interest again!
Are any of you sticking to budget or fixed shopping list this month? Hmmm?
(p.s. Sorry for the off-topic makeup stuff, I was too excited and wanted to share. I know when I was first into np I hated seeing makeup posts mixed in with my nail blogs, so apologies!! XD)
Heart Strings is the perfect name for that polish! Actually all the Lynderellas have perfect names!
ReplyDeleteI'm a blush girl myself, but have yet to buy any Tarte's....I think I need Blissful....
A-England is a wonderful brand, I have all your choices except Order of the Garter and Perceval. The rest are Ahhmazing, both in application and formulation!
ReplyDeleteThat Illamasqua is amazing! I don't blush I bronze instead...too hard for me to find a decent/suitable blush.
ReplyDeleteOh, A-England!! You won't be disappointed. I just got my first three, Perceval-it is THE most beautiful red ever! Order of the Garter, another wow. And Princess Tears, sigh. I'm definitely getting St. George and Dragon next. And those Layla Holographics?? I have been stalking the Zappos site for over a week. Man they look awesome! I wish I had a bottomless bank account. My husband is going to kill me! :)
ReplyDeleteNice! I love blushes too! I have already two ful boxes and still have plenty on my wish list...
ReplyDeleteI must say I don't fix budgets for me, but I should. This month I spent 90€ only on skin care products. I own only one blush, and one highlighter. I will buy another when this one is finished. I have products that I only have one of, like foundation, concealer, pouder, mascara and blush, and I have products that I have enourmous quantities of, like eye shadows, and eye liners, and all sorts of lip products
ReplyDeletenooo i love the makeup posts! i think i need nars amour now, dangit. and i love how you have 7 blushes, i have like 70. oops!!!
ReplyDeletelove the lynns also!
I'm not a fan of bar glitter but heart Strings looks great over that pink!
ReplyDeleteI love that you post your thoughts about budgets, making shopping lists, etc. I am obsessed with making nail polish shopping lists :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what's funny? Nail polish is the only cosmetic that I tell myself I can never have enough of! I only have one blush I use daily (Benefit Thrrrob) and only use the eyeshadows from my Naked palette... but yet I can buy the same shade of teal nail polish so many times! lol. Thanks for the pic of Heart Strings - I was curious what it looked like on nails!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of bar glitter, but I have to admit, that Lynderella is making me reconsider! Her stuff is so gorgeous, and you do a great job with the pictures. :) Jessica Disco Diva is a MUST! It is amazing! And I can't wait to see your gorgeous pictures here. Also, on the blush front, I just picked up Illamasqua's Hussy, and I think I may be in danger of developing a blush addiction myself. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know! usually bar glitter is a huge deterrent for me, but I like how this one looks. The name has got to help, though. haha. I can't wait to get Jessica Disco Diva! AGHHH! I want to try Illamasqua blushes too... mmmm blush.
ReplyDeleteHaha, we all have the same nail polish addiction XD It's a tough life, huh? ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, 70 blushes!!! amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty good of you! I don't have much of an addiction to lip products, since my lips are really sensitive and peel all the time :( If they ever heal properly though, IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG! XD
