Milani Gems

At the same CVS where I found Revlon Perplex, I found the new Milani display :)

I'm generally not a fan of chunky glitter, but decided to pick this fun polish up for the heck of it. There's so much hype around Lippman Happy Birthday on the NB, I thought I would give the look a try with a cheaper alternative. Plus, I had a coupon at CVS and needed to reach $20 :p

In pictures, however, I do prefer the smaller glitter being square as in Happy Birthday instead of the round small glitter in Gems.

Revlon Perplex

Found it at my nearby dingy CVS today after work! :) My CVS is undergoing renovations, so it is a MESS in there. I was seriously surprised to find this display and the new Milani display as well! :D

Illamasqua Muse

I picked up my first Illamasqua polish during the Sephora F&F sale a couple weeks ago. I didn't think I would care for it that much, but I am in LOVE!

My only gripe is that the fake cap (the square one) does not sit straight on the bottle :/

I feel like I need more Illamasquas now, though!

NARS Zulu and Midnight Express

Sephora F&F really did a toll on me this year! By the time I got around to my third (!!!) order, polishes that I had managed to resist jumped into my cart.

Notably:

NARS Midnight Express and Zulu :D!

NARS Midnight Express - Sorry for the dust/bumps on my ring fingernail. This is so gorgeous, but really really dark.

NARS Midnight Express with underwear - I retook the pic with underwear (Orly Country Club Khaki).

Nars Zulu - Again sorry for the weird dust.

NARS Zulu with underwear - I retook the pic with underwear (Orly Country Club Khaki) and prefer it this way!

Do I think they are worth the hype? Well, Zulu is a little overrated for me and ME underrated. I love the consistency and application of both, and I'm glad to have them. But if they weren't 20% off with free shipping, I would not have purchased them, simply because I'm not especially drawn to dark colours. I was never really lemming them, but am pleased they are now part of the family ;)

Sally Hansen CSM Fedora and Sequin Scandal

DBF picked up these two polishes from Ulta for me a couple weekends ago. They were 2/$10 and there was a $5 off $10 coupon at the time, so he scored both for $5!

I had been lemming both for quite a while...

SH Fedora - Completely in LOVE with this polish; it has jumped right into my top 20... maybe even top 10 polishes!

SH Fedora - love the shimmer in it <3

RBL Haul!

Yesterday was my big actuarial exam which I have been preparing for since June. The exam was two sessions of 3 hours 15 minutes each, so basically I left home at 7:30 am and got home at 5:30 pm, with tons of torture in between.

Luckily, when I got home, my RBL haul from Monday had arrived safely in my mail box :)

For myself, I ordered: 360, Diddy Mow, No More War, Chinoise, Cherry Love, and Plie. For my friend back in Canada, I got; Stormy, 360, and Dead Calm. After looking at Stormy and Dead Calm, I wish I had gotten them for myself as well! Oh well!

These are my first RBLs!

Here they are still boxed up.

And lined up :)

NMW, Diddy Mow, Stormy (flash)

360, Dead Calm (flash)

Comparison bottle shot: Nars ME, RBL Dead Calm, Orly Royal Navy (flash)

Cherry Love, Chinoise, Plie (flash)

Side view of mine :D

NMW - I'm wearing this right now as my NOTD and I'm not entirely sure if I love it on me or not. It reminds me of baby poop next to my skintone. What do you think?

360 - I do, however, adore this! Right up my alley and in my comfort zone!

360 macro - There is even super secret shimmer! Sorry about the bumpy bits there, I didn't use a base coat for these swatches and I must have had some curly bits coming off my nail.

Diddy Mow - I think the application of this was good, but not amazing compared to Sew Psyched. I think this may have been a touch sheerer than Sew Psyched, but I think I need to try them on side by side :)

Plie - 3 coats, not super impressed with this one, to be honest.

Chinoise - 2 coats, should have used 3. It looks a bit more orange leaning on my skin tone, so I'm glad I picked up the next one:

Cherry Love: LOVE this colour! The cap is different on Cherry Love and the brush is kind of poofy and hard to work with... anyone else have this same issue with these different (presumably older) caps? I figured I will wait a couple weeks until Ji is no longer packing orders 24/7 to ask about it.
