RBL Haul!

Yesterday was my big actuarial exam which I have been preparing for since June. The exam was two sessions of 3 hours 15 minutes each, so basically I left home at 7:30 am and got home at 5:30 pm, with tons of torture in between.

Luckily, when I got home, my RBL haul from Monday had arrived safely in my mail box :)

For myself, I ordered: 360, Diddy Mow, No More War, Chinoise, Cherry Love, and Plie. For my friend back in Canada, I got; Stormy, 360, and Dead Calm. After looking at Stormy and Dead Calm, I wish I had gotten them for myself as well! Oh well!

These are my first RBLs!

Here they are still boxed up.

And lined up :)

NMW, Diddy Mow, Stormy (flash)

360, Dead Calm (flash)

Comparison bottle shot: Nars ME, RBL Dead Calm, Orly Royal Navy (flash)

Cherry Love, Chinoise, Plie (flash)

Side view of mine :D

NMW - I'm wearing this right now as my NOTD and I'm not entirely sure if I love it on me or not. It reminds me of baby poop next to my skintone. What do you think?

360 - I do, however, adore this! Right up my alley and in my comfort zone!

360 macro - There is even super secret shimmer! Sorry about the bumpy bits there, I didn't use a base coat for these swatches and I must have had some curly bits coming off my nail.

Diddy Mow - I think the application of this was good, but not amazing compared to Sew Psyched. I think this may have been a touch sheerer than Sew Psyched, but I think I need to try them on side by side :)

Plie - 3 coats, not super impressed with this one, to be honest.

Chinoise - 2 coats, should have used 3. It looks a bit more orange leaning on my skin tone, so I'm glad I picked up the next one:

Cherry Love: LOVE this colour! The cap is different on Cherry Love and the brush is kind of poofy and hard to work with... anyone else have this same issue with these different (presumably older) caps? I figured I will wait a couple weeks until Ji is no longer packing orders 24/7 to ask about it.

Recent NOTDs

My first patchwork mani!

Using: OPI Funky Dunkey, Brucci Gianna's Rockin' Blue, CC Revvvolution

Inspired by this Stila trio ^_^

I followed the tutorial by Chloe0602 on MUA.

Candycorn-icure for Halloween! Using: SH White On, OPI Ecuadorable Coral, ChG Lemon Fizz

Right now I'm wearing SH Sequin Scandal with ChG Zombie Zest over it! It is so gorgeous, I think I may wear it all the way til Thursday for my big exam!

I made an RBL order and Zoya order today. I can't wait to swatch all the pretties I got in the last few weeks! :3

OPI Ski Teal We Drop

When swatches and promo pics started showing up for the Swiss collection, this was my one and only lemming. I waited a couple weeks before buying it. I picked it up at my local mall's salon and also got an $18 haircut (it was awful; I should just learn to cut my own hair). I was quite giddy to have snatched this polish up: as soon as I got in the car, I took it out and admired it. Then, I promptly ignored it for a month.

Here it is now:

I guess it's a little darker than I would have liked. But a dark teal was missing from my collection, so no biggie!

OPI Shrek Forever After and Hong Kong Collections

I recently went through my entire stash and swatched all of my polish, so that's why all the spam lately :)

Here are the polishes I picked up from the Shrek and HK collections earlier this year:

Shrek Forever After

Fiercely Fiona - I thought I wouldn't like this on my nails, but I actually do! Imagine that.

Funky Dunkey - Actually, I keep forgetting if it's Funkey Dunkey or Funky Dunkey

Rumple's Wiggin' - After seeing the movie on my recent flight across the pond, I would have to say that Rumplestiltskin really was wigging out in the beginning of the movie.

What's with the Cattitude - Puss's part in the movie was really subdued :( He was super cute as a fat (I mean, "fancy") kitty though...

Hong Kong Collection

Jade is the New Black - I really like this shade, but I'm wondering why I haven't worn it in a while...

Lucky Lucky Lavender - I was really excited to get this colour, but once I had it on, I felt it clashed with my skin tone a bit :(

Pearl of Wisdom over Essie St Lucia Lilac - I don't like wearing this polish on its own, but I love it over light purples!

Macro of PoW over Essie St LL

Suzi Says Feng Shui - like JitNB, I'm wondering why I don't wear this more often!

AA Butter, California Trooper, Office

I decided to do real swatches of my American Apparel polishes:

AA Butter - I prefer this over ChG Lemon Fizz, but still think it's rather stark to wear to work.

AA California Trooper - I had lemmed pretty hard for this polish, and after getting it, I hated to admit that it wasn't quite right for my skin tone :( I'll give it another try in the winter months when I'm paler, but I may have to put this in my swap/gift pile!

AA Office - I wasn't going to pick this up initially because of the reports on its poor application, but once I was at the store and saw the price was 3 for $15 or $6 each, I just HAD to buy a third polish. This stood out most to me, as I was going through a mint green phase at the time, and I'm so glad I got it. I think I can pull it off at work because it's just ever so dusty :)

I'd like to get more of these polishes, but
a) I truly resent going into that store, and
b) I am almost just waiting for them to declare bankruptcy and just sweep in and buy all the polish on sale. Does that make me a bad person? O_o

China Glaze Bogie and Hey Doll

I originally only picked up Emerald Fitzgerald and Ingrid from the Vintage Vixen collection, but when I went to pick up my Orly Cosmix FX polishes, there was a $1 off 2 ChG coupon available and Bogie and Hey Doll were just sitting there.

I'm not sure how much I like these, but they ended up only being around $3 each, so I decided to just keep them.
